Deeply committed to the creative scene of our time, Éloïse Labaume has built her career around her dual roles as a harpist and vocalist. Within the field of contemporary music, her work centres on several areas unique to her: her work as a harpist, singer and narrator; the production of projects combining various artistic expressions with the performing arts; and her role as co-artistic director of the Bazar Electrique company, which she founded with the composer Aurélio Edler - Copes. This collaboration gave rise to the Live-Bazar festival, which will hold its fourth edition in May 2026.
She seeks out eclectic ensembles across different countries and has drawn inspiration from the diverse personalities and encounters that have left a lasting impression on her. She graduated from the Conservatoire Supérieur –Musikene– under Frédérique Cambreling (Spain), from the Hochschule der Kunst in Bern under Georges Aperghis and Françoise Rivalland (Switzerland), and completed her postgraduate studies at the CNSM in Paris.
Her commitments as a musician have led her to perform at venues including the KKL (Switzerland), the Paris Philharmonie, the Opéra Bastille, the Cologne Philharmonie, IRCAM, the Centre Pompidou, the Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Mozart Saal in Vienna, with orchestras such as the Strasbourg Orchestra, the Pays de la Loire Orchestra, the Spanish National Orchestra, and the ULBRA in Porto Alegre (Brazil), and under the baton of Pierre Boulez, Pascal Rophé, Josep Pons, Fruhbeck de Burgos, Suzanna Maalki, Peter Rundel, Johannes Kalitzke and Mathias Pintcher. She has also taken part in several festivals, including Présences, Musica de Strasbourg, Manifeste, Messiaen, Vienna Modern, the Venice Biennale and the Salzburg Biennale.
Highly active on the international contemporary music scene, she is regularly invited to perform with the Ensemble Intercontemporain and the KlangForum Wien. She has been involved in the creation of various productions combining the harp with theatre, improvisation and singing (with the La Lune Blanche company, La Cité de la Musique, the Eclats company and the La RaVi company) and has devised her own solo musical theatre piece, *Les mots pour le dire*. With her company, Bazar Electrique, she has performed in numerous concerts and performance as a singer, focusing on new works, notably by Aurélio Edler-Copes featuring real-time electronics, such as the Hörspiel project or Love.Songs in collaboration with the Berlin-based ensemble Lux:NM.
Éloïse Labaume has premiered more than thirty works, ranging from solo pieces to chamber music and ensemble works, thereby contributing to the enrichment of the repertoire for the harp in close collaboration with composers. She is also co-founder of the association Les Signes de l’arc, dedicated to the contemporary harp. A discography documents her various projects, and she will record her first solo album, which will showcase the repertoire of musical theatre for harp and voice, in late 2025, with a release scheduled for 2026.
Passionate about passing on her knowledge, she is a PEA teacher at the CRD in Bobigny and at the CMA 14 in Paris.
